The discography of Rihanna consists of four studio albums, two remix albums, sixteen singles, twenty music videos and two DVD’s. She has featured as a guest artist on four charting singles by other performers, and contributed to eleven more songs on other artists’ albums. She has also provided original recordings for a film soundtrack, and for promotional material for health and beauty products. In addition, she has also released two charity singles over two years.

Rihanna’s music incorporates various styles of musical genres, including dance-pop, hip hop, R&B, pop rock and the Caribbean music styles of reggae and dancehall. Her debut single, “Pon de Replay“, was released on August 22, 2005. It performed well in English speaking countries, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, the United Kingdom Singles Chart, and the Irish Singles Chart. It reached number one in New Zealand and number six in Australia. It was later certified platinum in the US and gold in Australia. Music of the Sun, Rihanna’s first album, had distinct Caribbean reggae rhythms and dancehall beats fused with synthesised urban dance-pop. It was released at the end of August 2005 and performed moderately well in charts around the world. In the US, it reached number ten on the Billboard 200, number thirty-five on the UK Albums Chart, number twelve on the Irish Albums Chart, and also appeared on other European charts. Its highest chart position was number seven on the Top Canadian Albums Chart. It was certified gold in the US and UK, and platinum in Canada. The album produced two further singles, including the second single “If It’s Lovin’ that You Want” and “Let Me“, which was only released in Japan.
